Much to my delight, my Labor Day weekend consisted of a quick road trip down to Portland with a couple of my roommates.
After filling up our tank (for a painfully high price) we hit the road! A short, 3 1/2 hours later, we found ourselves in P-town.
Obviously, first thing was first...tax free shopping.
And then the Portland classics...
Voodoo donuts (and all the weird that comes with it), hiking through the Columbia Gorge, and city exploring!
There was also a plentitude of home-cooked food, movies starring Zac Efron, hot tubbing, wine, and country music.
Literally, the perfect {labor-free} weekend.
However...

Tax free shopping? I need to be there now! That's my kind of place. We have 13% tax here and it's terrible.

oooh i have tried voodoo donuts but in eugene i need to go to the portland one. in fact i need to make a trip up to portland in general.
Ouch, that gas price is high! I've never been to Portland; it's on my list of places to visit some day. We spent Labor Day weekend doing some work on our new house and buying a car! Looks like a fun weekend! I wish Portland was a 3 1/2 hour drive for me. Also, sorry gas is so high where you are! Yuck.
Looks like a great trip!!! Ive never been to Portland since im on the other side of the US. I guess thats all the more reason to go. Gas prices are soooo awful right now. Blah!
